Take Time to Save Time

It doesn’t always seem like the best use of time to make a plan. 

 

I have used the “I don’t have time” excuse more than anyone – so I know all about it. 

 

But then I heard someone make a comparison that stuck with me. 

 

If you say you don’t have time to make a plan it is the same as saying you are too busy to put an address into the GPS.  You MIGHT get where you want to go – but it will definitely not be as quick or as direct a route.  

 

Well, now that made some sense (even though I didn’t want to hear it).  So, I tried it. 

 

I took the time to make a tentative meal plan for the week.  I even collaborated with the husband for a little bonus bonding time. 

 

Making the time to plan the menu saved me time at the grocery store, saved me mental time every day, AND saved me time cooking (because we planned things we know, like and make often). 

 

It helped me get where I’m going (losing weight) and ended up SAVING me time in the long run. 

 

Now, I love my “no time” excuse – but if you are committed to losing some weight – there really is no better way. 

 

Take the time to make a plan (one that you like and can stick to), stick to your plan and not quit if you stumble.
