Time Waits for No Man

Time waits for no man – Lauren Oliver

I heard this quote but didn’t give it much attention.  It has taken on such meaning to me now that I have kids. 

See, I was always “waiting”. Waiting to “DO” until I lost weight.  Waiting to go to the beach.  Waiting to go on whatever vacation.  Waiting to be in a picture because I didn’t like how I looked.  Waiting, waiting, waiting.

I had this really rooted belief that “then” was better than “now”.  This magic time I had built up in my head about how everything would be better when I lost weight. 

Don’t get me wrong – my clothes feel better and I feel better in my body – BUT I could still play the “wait until” game.  Wait to feel better in a bathing suit to go to the beach.  Wait until my hair looks better to be in the picture.  Wait until I’m at my final goal weight to help others start losing weight. 

It’s a game without a winner.  No more “then”.  No more “wait”. 

Let’s do “now” because time waits for no man.
